Civilian Volunteers

The Volunteer Program was created to form a working partnership between citizens and the police to enhance communications and assist the Lebanon Police Department in the delivery of quality services. Citizen volunteers are recruited from various sources, including the Citizens Academy. They assist the agency in many ways, including:

Municipal Court Assistant
Clerical Duties
Disabled Parking
Community Policing Events
Telecommunications

The program is not designed to have the volunteer replace professional staff, but is aimed at providing a supplementary and complementary role. Volunteers, when given appropriate training, can supplement present services and become a valuable addition to the Lebanon Police Department.
