Mission

The City of Lebanon is dedicated to providing exceptional services and opportunities that enhance the quality of life for present and future members of the community.

The City of Lebanon has a Council/Manager form of government. The City Council is the principle governing body of the city. The City Administrator, or manager, is appointed by the City Council and is responsible to them for the daily operation of the City's departments and implementation of Council policy.

The City of Lebanon is divided into three Wards (precincts) with two councilors in each and elected in alternating even years. The Mayor is elected by the entire city and serves as the chairperson at all City Council meetings and appoints all members of the City's commissions and boards.

A quorum requires 4 Council members present. The Mayor is entitled to a vote only in the case of a tie.

City Council meetings are accessible to persons with disabilities. A request for an interpreter for the hearing impaired or for other accommodations for persons with disabilities should be made at least 48 hours before the meeting by contacting the City Recorder’s Office.
