Ad Hoc Committees

In an effort to expand opportunities for citizen participation, the City uses short-term mission-specific committees in recent years to help plan and promote important community improvements. Ad Hoc Committees have been created to design Strawberry Plaza, the Gillott Dog Park, the Northside Welcome Monument Sign and to explore the creation of a Lebanon Historic Museum. These committees are mission driven and typically serve for a year or less.

This process acknowledges the ever-increasing pace of life in American culture that makes it difficult for many to make multi-year commitments as standing committee members.  Lebanon’s mission specific committees provide an opportunity for many of these previously excluded residents to participate on a short-term basis on projects in which they may have a specific interest or passion.
