With the temperatures expected to drop below 25 degrees tonight, the Lebanon Warming Shelter will be opening in the city for anyone who needs respite from the cold. The warming shelter will provide an area for getting out of the cold weather for the night, as well as a warm blanket, a mat to sleep, hot beverages and snacks.
The center will be open from 7:00 PM - 7:00AM beginning December 30, 2014 at the Lebanon Soup Kitchen, 170 E. Grant Street, Lebanon Oregon. The decision to open the shelter will be made on day by day, based upon the weather conditions.
The warming center is operated by the City of Lebanon, volunteers and other members of the community with some of the funding provided by the City of Lebanon. We are in need of blankets, snack items, hot beverage items, such as teas, coffee, cocoa, cups etc. These items can be dropped off at the Lebanon Police Department at 40 N 2nd St.
